Pennsylvania!!!

I'm not quite sure the story behind the glasses but she looked cute!

The long awaited day came. Megan got up at 2:30 a.m. on July 13th to get ready, pack her bags, clean her room and make her scheduled flight out of Salt Lake City. She had an hour layover in Atlanta. So close, but yet so far from hanging out with all her favorite Georgians! Once in Pittsburgh, she enjoyed seeing President and Sister Johnson again while staying at the mission home. On Tuesday, she went to the transfer meeting where she was able to see Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim! It was really fun for both her and them. It was the biggest transfer meeting that they have ever had - the chapel was full of missionaries. Even through the craziness of so many missionaries, Megan, Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim all still got quite a bit of attention from everyone there because of their unique situation.

Megan was really sad to leave Sister Hartman as her companion but was also excited to start her new adventure in PA. Her new mission companion is Hermana Sears. Sister Sears was called as a Spanish speaking missionary and learned Spanish in the MTC but in their area right now she probably won't use it a lot. Megan will be able to have an extra hour every day to try to learn Spanish if she wants to but probably won't end up speaking Spanish on her mission. 

Now for another irony . . . her first area that she is going to is Butler, PA. With the incredible odds of Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim (aka Elder and Sister BUTLER) already serving their mission in Pittsburgh, I thought this was just too ironic to have Megan serving in BUTLER!!! Jared thought that it was also destiny that she serve there since it is the birthplace of the Jeep. Her area is about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh and her P-Days will be on Mondays. Grandma and Grandpa just might find themselves wandering up to Butler occasionally on a Monday!
